History
The Wildwood Golf Course was sold to Tim Boyd in 1977 for $250, 000 and 5 years later he turned the hills into a ski resort but maintained the golf course. He used his company Peak Resorts to acquire or develop several resorts all over the Northeast and the Midwest United States, but the resort was the first of several other resorts to be acquired. Tim then entered into an agreement to build 80 homes on the property but was, in return, supposed to put the resort in a conservation easement.
The resort is now open for business all year round with added features such as the 4-span ZipTour. It is also 36 minutes away from the St. Louis Airport and only 13 minutes away from Wildwood town, MO. Indeed, Hidden Valley Ski is the best place to visit when you want to escape from the hectic city for a few days of adventure and a tour of nature. The ZipTour allows you to explore the terrain of the resort through 4-zip line spans, 2 short hikes, and 2 chair lift rides. Once you have watched the right instructional video, received the required orientation from the guides, and have been fitted with the appropriate equipment, you can begin by first practicing the operation of the tour on the Greenhorn training zip. You can then continue to ride the Gateway Lift and head to the mountain top to complete the ZipTour.
