Ameristar Casino is a riverboat casino situated on the Missouri River, St. Charles, MO, a St. Louis suburb located in the northwestern part of the city. It is among the most frequently visited Missouri-based tourist attractions. When the casino was opened in 1994 under the ownership of Station Casinos, it was known as Station Casino St. Charles. Station Casinos disposed of its Missouri properties to Ameristar in October 2000, and Station Casino Kansas City was included in the deal. In 2008, the property expanded to include a hotel, spa, and pool. The now-defunct Pinnacle Entertainment acquired Ameristar Casinos in 2013 and, in 2018, it was later acquired by Penn National Gaming.
