About the City of Rock Hill

 

Rock Hill is a well-known city in Saint Louis County, Missouri. The U.S. Census Bureau estimated the total area of the city to be 1.09 sq. miles or 2.82 km2, which is 100% land. It is bordered by other cities such as Warson Woods, Ladue, Webster Groves, Brentwood, and Glendale. Administration Department

When you first visit Rock Hill City Council for municipal services, you’ll likely first interact with the Administration Department, which is run by the City Administrator. This department provides administration services for city departments and employees and even the public. These services include notary services, liquor licenses, sign permits, building permits, housing inspections, garage sale permits, business & merchant licenses, occupancy permits, fence permits, and driveway permits among others.

Finance Department

This department records and maintains accurate accounting records according to the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. It also collects and records revenues in the form of taxes and fines.

Fire Department

The department is made up of the Fire Chief and other members certified as Firefighters having met the standards set by the Saint Louis Fire Standards Commission and attended the county’s Fire Academy. Certified Fire Investigators are two staff members who are well-trained and certified as Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs). They can use the Automatic External Defibrillator when an individual is having a cardiac arrest.

Human Resources Department

This department is responsible for the affairs of the city employees, including recruitment, training, staffing, payroll processing, employee benefits, talent development, and employee relations in the City of Rock Hill. This department plans and coordinates recreational activities and programs, under the supervision of the Parks & Recreation Superintendent. Rock Hill Public Library

Located at 9811 Manchester Road, Rock Hill, MO 63119, the library recently celebrated its 70 years of public service in 2004 and has more than 28, 000 volumes. Its Board of Trustees meets on the second Monday of every month, but alternative dates are set where meeting is not possible due to a public holiday.

Police Department

The Rock Hill Police Department provides law and order in Rock Hill. With well-trained, experienced staff, and over 85 years of service to the community, the department can ensure Rock Hill residents live in a safe, friendly, and serene environment.
